buying a lubitel cheap

$350. Let that sink in for a second. That’s what Lomo wants to charge you for a Lubitel 166. $350. Do you realize what else you could buy with that kind of money? I do. But I wanted a Lubitel anyway, because if you follow this blog you know there is one thing I love- Russian Cameras. So what is the solution?

I just picked up a Lubitel 2 from EBAY about a month back. I still need to order some 120 film so that I can shoot the darn thing! It looks great on my mantle
I had to have one after I saw a shot from a flickr contact with this camera.
Mine cost $24 and $26 to ship it because it came from Russia
Looks to be in great shape so I can’t wait to shoot with it.

Hah- yeah, Lomo is supposed to be cheap, unless it’s Lomographic Int- then it’s got a bit more on the mark up
I got my Fed-3B rangefinder on e-bay for about $40. Lomo Int. is selling them for about $150 I think.

I got a Lubitel 166U on Ebay a few months ago for $70. Not as good a price as yours but that’s what they were all going for at the time so, fairly competitive. Far better than 5 times that!
I really like it. It’s not as easy to focus as my Yashica LM but it is smaller, lighter, & takes great shots.
I can’t wait to read your piece on the Agat 18. I have one that I got really cheap on Ebay (I’m very enamored of half frame cameras) but the aperture/focusing/shutter speed dial kinda confuses me. I embrace my inner noob.
