Ikimono 110 Giveaway!

The most asked question filling our inbox is ‘where can I buy all of these cameras?’ When the Blackbird, Fly first came out, they were selling for hundreds on eBay, which has up until recently been the only place to find cameras like the Blackbird, Demekin, and one of my new favorites, the Ikimono 110. When I cam across the Brooklyn 5&10 online shop, I had finally found one spot in the States where I could not only order the cameras, but also 110 film, all at the best prices on the web. While other Urban Hipster stores may sell the same items, Brooklyn 5&10 has better prices, better service and you are dealing with actual people. They stock everything from the GoldenHalf, to the Sharan Pinhole camera kits. The staff not only sells the cameras, but uses them as well. All of the images of New York on their site were photographed by the staff themselves. If that’s not enough to convince you of how cool these guys are, they sent us an Ikimono 110 to giveaway to a lucky reader. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, telling us why you’d like to have the camera (in 30 words or less..) At the end of next week, we’ll pick one and send you the Ikimono so that you can share in the 110 love too. Then stay tuned as we present camera tests on a handful of 110 cameras in the next few weeks.

I want it because…..
I want to test it and see what it’s like to shoot with 110 film. I also want to see how the shots will turn out.

I am recently addicted to lomo. And the one that I am really interested is Ikimono 119 (panda design). Its definately cool to bring something that looks like a toy keychain.
March 23rd, 2009 |
I would love to share the memories of pictures taken with the cam with the people around me. It’s going to be part of my life!
March 19th, 2009 |
I think you should hook me up with the camera because I can’t afford to buy the mini Leica, and Mini is so much fun to shoot with.

——> We are going to pick the winner at 4pm Eastern (NYC) time, March 18th. There will be a post tomorrow about the winning comment. Cheers- NIC

I’ve not shot film due to my lab closing. Found a handful of expired Kodak Ultra for a dollar at a thrift store….no camera. Ikimono would lift that curse….
March 17th, 2009 |
it’s the ULTIMATE camera to stalk a guy
The camera’s super cute, and he’s super gorgeous.

March 16th, 2009 |

March 15th, 2009 |
Such a cute camera! I’m looking forward to seeing your camera tests Nic, should be very cool! I love the comments so far. The only reason I would love to have the particular camera pictured is because the little doggie on it resembles our daughters much loved pooch! But I don’t deserve this camera as much as the others as I have already been very blessed in toy camera bounty, have fun whoever wins this cutie! (and please share your photos when you take them!)

I guess I don’t ” need” this camera..however am on a mission to shoot with every size , format of camera that I can possible lay my hands on..and be able to find film for..
March 15th, 2009 |
Why I would love to have the Ikimono camera? Toy camera fascinates me, especially when using 110 films!
March 15th, 2009 |
You’ve started a chain reaction, everyone in Delaware should have one.
March 15th, 2009 |
I’ve never shot with 110 yet – and I’d love to give it a try!
March 14th, 2009 |
my big sis had a 110 film camera and never let me use it. she promised me I’d get it one day though. but then she went and lost it! it was over a decade ago, but I still think she did it on purpose.
so please, as a small token to one of all tormented kid brothers out there, please let me at last have a 110 film camera to call my own.

A cool camera
Would really love to win it
How to find the words

I want to say because I’d do good to the world and bring peace to all corners of the earth, but honestly it’s because I want it for myself. And I’ve never had a pet dog before, but trust me, I will feed it and mend to all its need very diligently. I’m not a dog person but I can be a dog-face camera person. I think. You know what I mean.

I need a key chain!
March 14th, 2009 |
My keys are lonely, and I think a little dog to play with would do them good!
March 14th, 2009 |
Be sadistic and give me this camera because all i need is another camera to spend money on and bother the photo lab with odd film.
March 14th, 2009 |
i already have a holga 120gn but for some reason the pictures i have taken doesnt seem to cool as other pics taken with a holga,, and i dont know,, im starting to lose faith about getting cool pics with a analog camera,, when i bought the holga , i bought and developed my first film like in 14 years!!

I have many cameras and my favorites are the plastic ones. I love the 110’s bc I remember using them as a child. As a mom I am introducing photography to my kids and I think they would love something like this!
March 13th, 2009 |
It would boost my “cool protographer” appearance enough so friends would give me their antique cameras. Then I would sell this for hundres on eBay and buy more of these….
March 13th, 2009 |
oooh this would be great for “paparazzi” style shots… or for spying on the hubby… hmm…
March 13th, 2009 |
because im badass, that’s why.
haha!
and i’ll give you a kickass review + sample pics if you want to.
March 13th, 2009 |
Because my mini-Holga 110 is currently an only child and needs a brother or sister to live a well-rounded life.
March 13th, 2009 |
So many of my family memories are captured on 110 film, I’d love to use this with my son to tie the generations together.
March 13th, 2009 |
My favorite cameras to this day are the plastic lens toy point and shoot…
they capture feelings…that is the magic.
March 13th, 2009 |
This world has so many interesting things. I love to capture every things around me. It will be so much fun if I can shoot the big things in this world with this tiny and unique camera, Ikimono 110! So super, the tiny can save the big moments in my life. I want to try it!
March 13th, 2009 |
I HAVE to have it in order to make a one of a kind wedding album for my dear sister.
Plus I’m about to be a jobless graduate.
March 13th, 2009 |
I am a tiny short photographer type person who needs tiny things to fit into tiny pockets
March 13th, 2009 |
My dog’s been castrated and the little ‘roll’s on the ends remind me of him pre-op.
Remember taking 110 film to Consumers Distributing to get processed? ‘Fast’ turnaround was 1 week.
March 13th, 2009 |
Because I’m a super-secret-special-agent-spy and need this tiny, good-to-hide-camera, for my next dangerous and saving-world-from-evil-darkness mission!!!
March 13th, 2009 |
this is the rarest stuff in my country
that i could have
tiny, cool, and looks fun!
March 13th, 2009 |
So i can become the spy I always wanted to be when I was a kid. Plus the Ikimono is so much sexier than a MINOX … a sexy spy with a sexy cam.
March 13th, 2009 |
My body is at work but my mind is wandering in the world of cameras. I love these quirky cameras and just this week I got my hands on my first real toy camera – the disderi robot 3.. I would LOVE to have the ikimono 110 and explore what I can do with it!
March 13th, 2009 |
I’d like to try to use it like the Cat-face camera, but for dogs, and providing my own dog audio.
March 13th, 2009 |
I’d like one to try out the 110 developing spirals I just bought. The hacked hello kitty colour shots in b/w chemicals by Formica on a previous post insipired me!
March 12th, 2009 |
I need it because I don’t have a camera with a picture of a puppy on it and my yoda keychain broke last week.
March 12th, 2009 |
I have only got my first toy camera a few days ago and am already in love. I need to feed this addiction!
March 12th, 2009 |
Why I’d like an Ikimono? Simple….i love photos, any photos, and love how different cameras take different photos…
March 12th, 2009 |
Just barely starting out in the toy camera world, all I have so far is a Klutz camera. Love to try out this cute little guy.
March 12th, 2009 |
My very first camera was a 110 … I’d love to relive my 1980s childhood.
