Ikimono 110 Giveaway!

ikimono_red

The most asked question filling our inbox is ‘where can I buy all of these cameras?’ When the Blackbird, Fly first came out, they were selling for hundreds on eBay, which has up until recently been the only place to find cameras like the Blackbird, Demekin, and one of my new favorites, the Ikimono 110. When I cam across the Brooklyn 5&10 online shop, I had finally found one spot in the States where I could not only order the cameras, but also 110 film, all at the best prices on the web. While other Urban Hipster stores may sell the same items, Brooklyn 5&10 has better prices, better service and you are dealing with actual people. They stock everything from the GoldenHalf, to the Sharan Pinhole camera kits. The staff not only sells the cameras, but uses them as well. All of the images of New York on their site were photographed by the staff themselves. If that’s not enough to convince you of how cool these guys are, they sent us an Ikimono 110 to giveaway to a lucky reader. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, telling us why you’d like to have the camera (in 30 words or less..) At the end of next week, we’ll pick one and send you the Ikimono so that you can share in the 110 love too. Then stay tuned as we present camera tests on a handful of 110 cameras in the next few weeks.

    I want it because…..

I want to test it and see what it’s like to shoot with 110 film. I also want to see how the shots will turn out.

I am recently addicted to lomo. And the one that I am really interested is Ikimono 119 (panda design). Its definately cool to bring something that looks like a toy keychain.

I think you should hook me up with the camera because I can’t afford to buy the mini Leica, and Mini is so much fun to shoot with.

I’ve not shot film due to my lab closing. Found a handful of expired Kodak Ultra for a dollar at a thrift store….no camera. Ikimono would lift that curse….

Such a cute camera! I’m looking forward to seeing your camera tests Nic, should be very cool! I love the comments so far. The only reason I would love to have the particular camera pictured is because the little doggie on it resembles our daughters much loved pooch! But I don’t deserve this camera as much as the others as I have already been very blessed in toy camera bounty, have fun whoever wins this cutie! (and please share your photos when you take them!)

my big sis had a 110 film camera and never let me use it. she promised me I’d get it one day though. but then she went and lost it! it was over a decade ago, but I still think she did it on purpose.
so please, as a small token to one of all tormented kid brothers out there, please let me at last have a 110 film camera to call my own.

I want to say because I’d do good to the world and bring peace to all corners of the earth, but honestly it’s because I want it for myself. And I’ve never had a pet dog before, but trust me, I will feed it and mend to all its need very diligently. I’m not a dog person but I can be a dog-face camera person. I think. You know what I mean.

I have many cameras and my favorites are the plastic ones. I love the 110’s bc I remember using them as a child. As a mom I am introducing photography to my kids and I think they would love something like this!

It would boost my “cool protographer” appearance enough so friends would give me their antique cameras. Then I would sell this for hundres on eBay and buy more of these….

Remember taking 110 film to Consumers Distributing to get processed? ‘Fast’ turnaround was 1 week.
